Maltzman Foreman Opens New Office in Southern California

Maltzman Foreman, P.A., a Miami-based litigation defense firm, has expanded its national footprint by opening an office in Los Angeles. Located on the 25th floor of the Wells Fargo Center, the office is near downtown courthouses to facilitate the firm’s active trial practice. Jeffrey Maltzman, the law firm’s co-founding partner, said the new location allows the firm to better serve its growing corporate client base which includes major cruise lines, travel and tour operations, maritime businesses and insurance companies.  Mr. Maltzman will handle cases in both Miami and Los Angeles and plans to commute regularly between the two offices.

In addition to Managing Partner Jeffrey Maltzman, the office is staffed with four additional trial lawyers who joined the firm as of counsel effective June 1st. 

 

Edgar “Ed” R. Nield is a seasoned trial attorney who has been practicing in Southern California for 20 years—mostly in insurance defense. Today he focuses his work in the areas of personal injury defense, professional liability defense, and negligent security cases for a variety of clients including the State of California. He received his undergraduate degree from Notre Dame in 1976 and earned a law degree and an M.B.A. from the University of Denver in 1983-84.   Ed has tried over 25 cases to verdict.  He is admitted to practice in both California and Colorado.

 

Christopher Gardner comes to Maltzman Foreman from Allstate Insurance where he spent 17 years as a senior trial attorney.  Chris has spent almost his entire legal career litigating against personal injury claims. Chris has conducted more than 120 trials to verdict.   Chris earned his undergraduate degree from Kalamazoo College in 1972 and earned his J.D. from
DePaul University College of Law in 1981.  He is admitted to practice law in both Illinois and California.  He is based in California and will handle matters in both the firm’s Los Angeles and Chicago offices.

 

Teresa C. Senior also has more than 20 years of litigation experience. For most of her career she has defended major insurance companies and self-insured entities in cases involving significant personal injuries and/or multi-million dollar property losses. Teresa has drafted appellate briefs and has argued before the California Court of Appeal. She received her undergraduate degree magna cum laude from U.C.L.A. in 1983 and her J.D. from the University of Southern California in 1987.  Teresa has tried five cases to verdict.

 

Heather F. Lunn has extensive experience practicing in the area of insurance defense litigation.  She has competently handled the defense of numerous clients in all aspects of litigation.   Heather’s primary focus has been personal injury defense although she has a strong background in construction defect and real estate litigation as well. Heather received her undergraduate degree in English Literature from the University of California Santa Barbara in 1990 and earned her law degree from California Western School of Law in 1995. 
 

 

Jeffrey B. Maltzman is a co-founding partner and principal of Maltzman Foreman P.A. He handles all aspects of complex commercial litigation, admiralty, insurance defense, and corporate crisis management.  In his 23 years of practicing law, he has accumulated extensive experience handling mass casualty cases, class actions, products and premises liability matters, sexual assault, negligent security, and medical malpractice. Jeffrey is AV Rated by Martindale Hubbard.  He was awarded membership to the Trial Lawyer Honorary Society of the Litigation Counsel of America, has been named a Florida Super Lawyer by Superlawyer Magazine, has won Best of the Bar awards from the South Florida Business Journal, Miami Daily Business Review, and Florida Trend Magazine.  Recently his trial victories were featured in the National Law Journal’s article “Winning” featuring ten of the best trial victories of 2009. A native of California, Jeffrey earned his undergraduate degree ifrom Stanford University in 1983 and his law degree from Stanford University Law School in 1987.  Jeffrey has tried more than 20 cases to verdict. He commutes regularly between the firm’s Miami and Los Angeles offices.
